Account Manager

Service · Full time · Mostly remote, New York metro · $60,000 to $75,000

The person clients deal with. You own the relationship and the rhythm of an engagement, so delivery stays on track and the client always knows what is happening next.

What you would own

  • Client communication day to day: the questions, the updates, the things that need chasing.
  • Keeping implementations on schedule, which mostly means seeing a slip before it becomes one and getting the right person on it.
  • Scheduling and running the meeting rhythm, including agendas that exist before the meeting starts.
  • Weekly client calls. Roman runs these today, and the intent is that you take them over as you learn the accounts.
  • Keeping each client's plan mapped several weeks ahead, so the team is never guessing what is next and the client can see what is coming.
  • Preparing quarterly reviews and renewals against a written record of what was actually delivered.

What we are looking for

  • You have managed client relationships before, in an agency, a professional services firm, or an in-house team serving internal clients.
  • You are organised in a way other people can see. Things do not get dropped, and the status of anything is answerable without a search.
  • You are comfortable being the one who says the uncomfortable thing early, to us or to a client.
  • You can hold a technical conversation without being the technical person. You do not need to configure HubSpot, but you should be able to follow what was built and why.
  • You write clearly. Most of this job is written communication.

What would make this hard

  • Processes exist but are not all documented. Part of this role is writing down what has only ever been in someone's head.
  • You would be the first person in this seat, so its shape is not fully settled and you will help decide it.
